WHAT: Central Park Paws Second Annual Memorial Service

WHY: To commemorate our departed Central Park dogs

WHO: The Central Park dog community

WHEN: Sunday, June 7th, 2009 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (rescheduled from May 3rd)

WHERE: Central Park, West 88th Street, in the cherry tree grove, between the Bridle Path and the Reservoir running track

Please join us for the second annual Memorial Service to honor our departed Central Park dogs.* Last year the Central Park Conservancy planted an Okame Cherry Tree as a permanent memorial.* It is located at West 88th in the grove of cherry trees between the Bridle Path and the Reservoir Path. You can find the tree by viewing the locator maps at http://www.centralparkpaws.org/memorial/index.php

We will gather by the tree from 2:00 pm*to 4:00 pm for a time of sharing and support.* All are welcome to share a poem or brief comments and a picture of your beloved dog.* Those who have lost their dog in the past year will be given a white flower to place under the tree or to bring home.*

From the memorial tree page of this site you can create a “memorial blossom” for your dog and read the loving tribute to William, the yellow lab that co-founded Central Park PAWS with PAWS President Susan Buckley.
